heartless communists is a look that should be avoided for obvious reasons, there were so many fucking possible agitation tactics that were not “send death threats to kids”
this is something internet radicals do that is counter-revolutionary because they’re not in real fucking orgs that they actually believe in and naturally feel angry and disempowered, and they ultimately enter the service of reaction YET AGAIN
(Also probably a completely fabricated psyop but nobody should support this anyway)
I don't know man, kids of cops didn't do anything wrong and losing a parent is traumatic whether they were a cop or not. Plus sending teens death threats is scummy as fuck. This is a pretty bad look.
Sure, they should understand why cops suck, but I'd personally wait to make them confront that until they're at least old enough to understand it. Telling a five year old who just lost their father that his profession is actually known for murder and rape just doesn't seem productive to me. Maybe I'm getting soft in my old age idk.
Sure, I see what you're saying. Having a teddy bear with a huge badge on it does seem a little fucked up to me and will most likely influence the kid's opinions on law enforcement when they're older.
You know what is scummy as fuck? Being orphaned because a cop gunned your dad down. I'm not crying for white supremacists or the people who support them.
You don't have to. I get it. I fucking hate cops. But I have empathy both for kids who lose parents from police murder and for those who lose their parents who died on active duty.
In general I feel like they're better off. I wouldn't exactly cry if a KKK member or a wife beater died and left their kids behind, but then I repeat myself.
No one's threatening the kids though. I get you feel bad but it's like you're feeling bad by association.
They're threatening a different kid who's trying to offer these kids some comfort in a moment of extreme trauma nobody should have to deal with at a young age.
I just think we're letting our hatred of police become toxic to the point that we're being cold to those who don't deserve it. If we want to get anyone to the right of us onboard, shit like this won't help. Focus on the racist cops and their actions.
Let's be real--this is probably fake just like all the cops who get stuff in their drinks at Starbucks or their shakes poisoned at Shake Shack. They have such a fucking persecution complex that they have to make up shit like this.
Yeah it probably is. But in that case why feed it the energy they want from us?
Suppose they made this up to paint leftists as evil people who threaten children... That's bait. They want us to double down and be more evil towards children.
I don't really feel like continuing the discussion and I think I've said everything I wanted to say about it. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day, comrade.
I feel like I'd have a better day if I didn't have this weird interaction ending with a hippie plea to civility or whatever.
If that "weird" interaction is affecting your day it's propbably time to log off for a while. I was just trying not to be a dick for no reason.
Nah this is dumb masculine trying to control the conversation shit dressed up in trying to appear enlightened and peaceable. Which, honestly, if you don't agree with me fine but this "do whatever you want" shit isn't cutting it.
Yeah I agree, 'do whatever you want' was a dick thing to say. I was frustrated and didn't want to keep talking about it. That's why I told you to have a nice day. I wasn't trying to play some masculine to enlightened mind game. Just trying to end on a positive note, but it doesn't seem like you're interested in that so why don't we just call it a day?
I don't think you were trying to do it, but it's a common silencing tactic with men. I get shut down by dudes when they're done talking, and instead of saying that they want to leave it, they pull this "have a nice day" thing, when it's clearly very passive aggressive.
I don't think we're at a productive point either, so I agree we should just leave it, but be aware of that. I think it's valuable to realize.
I read this like three times before I realized they weren't making bears of dead cops who are naked
I don't know if I can agree with the death threats over this. Kid is trying to support a parent-less (not sure of the word... one parent less?) kid. It's kind of bitter, like /r/copaganda posting things about how cops help the homeless by buying clothes/food and getting them to a shelter/on their feet. Yeah, it might be copaganda, but I don't necessarily think pointing out the "good" things they do is so shitty to dunk on.
Same with this kid. While I might not agree with her supporting cops (#ACAB), she's trying to comfort a kid who just lost a parent.
