    Thank you, comrade. She has agreed to be vaccinated immediately after delivery so our baby can get those antibodies from breastfeeding. Its the getting to that point bit that's looking scary now.

    But here in the south that's called "living in fear" as some sort of satanic communist psychopath

      I don't know if this is helpful but there are two styles of masks that will do a better job protecting her, especially at the hospital:

      • KN95 masks. The Max Planck Institute found that they make one of the best seals, including vs. standard N95s. These are also fairly comfortable and come in ear-loop and strap-around-the-head styles. I prefer the latter for long-term wearing, they're very comfortable.

      • Silicone 3M respirators with P100 disc filters. Get the gray and orange kind that don't have a filterless exhalation port because otherwise you'll (reasonably) get told to wear something else in a hospital. This is slightly more comfortable in terms of skin contact and makes a better seal but is heavier.
