We could save tens to hundreds of thousands of lives every year if we took like, any of 4 incredibly simple measures:
Wear masks in crowded public spaces like transit during flu season.
Require adequate paid sick leave.
Even a light level of routine testing and contact tracing for flu. If someone in an office gets flu tell everyone and test them. If you have flu symptoms get tested.
Mandate flu vaccines (also can we get mRNA flu vaccines pls)
It’s insane. They won’t even wear a mask when they’re actively sick! It’s for some reason considered totally normal to go in public when you’re sick as long as you feel well enough to be out of bed. Absolutely no regard for others.
