Missouri has always been an extremely ass backwards state and always will be. Unprincipled people who will do anything to fit with the times except raise taxes on cigs. Missouri as a state is the purest product of American imperialism possible. Individualist values rule all. Using traffic cams to ticket drivers is completely illegal. Cities do not have control over their own police force. The state forces the cities to have an absurdly high budget for cops, and love receivng old military equipment. There are 2 suburban police departments near me that have literal fucking tanks out in the open to remind people nearby that they have a tank. Many of the smaller PDs over here are known to sell whatever meth they get (often fent laced) out of evidence. The definition of libertarian liberal society that just needs a scratch to become fascist.

I'm surprised that the state hadn't forced a white guy to be president long ago honestly. This state is fucking horrible, and I deeply mourn for the loss of the LC community. Good administrators did more for me in college than all of my professors combined. I hate how Missouri always erodes shit from the inside like this.

I hope this becomes big news in Missouri but it probably won't because everybody here watches Fox or Newsmax, or are extremely disillusioned. This is just extra depressing to me because I don't think there's going to be any decent recourse on this. Missouri and neighboring states have massively failing economies, those individual states are starting to become full out fascist in their own unique ways as a response. has always been in a dance with fascism, but they've usually left room for Jesus, plausible deniability. Now the states are doing way more than a little shuffle at the prom, but they have everybody in the room saying that they're not going far enough for it to be worrisome. But they're fucking in the punch bowl. We're like 5 years away from seeing lynching make a full return. "States rights" will cause some form of "Balkanization" post 2024 election. Not a literal split, but cultural. We'll see the normal, evil yet functional capitalist libs in the wealthy blue places, and extreme malice in the red states. Red states want the marginalized to have nothing but constant fear, fear that Oklahoma will try to declare your race terrorists and legal to kill, fear that Missouri or Florida will take your children from you if you choose to start HRT. Fear that until you fall in line with the western order you will be a massive target.
