A question to those in the LGBT+ community, what's your favorite fiction, be it literature, live-action, animation, etc; with a queer protagonist(s). Just to make it clear sci-fi, fantasy, and historical are cool as well.
She-Ra is my favorite show of all time. The Owl House is shaping up to be great too but Disney fucked them over by drastically cutting down the last season so we'll see how it ends
Literature - They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera (This one will fuck you up)
Live Action show - Hollywood on Netflix. Yeah, it's ahistorical, but I can do with some upbeat queer media.
Live Action movie - Ideal Home. It's pretty funny and I thoroughly enjoyed it
Animated movie - ??? Though I'd argue that new Pixar movie was pretty gay.
Animated Series - Tie between Arcane and She-Ra
Visual Novel Game - Dream Daddy, Arcade Spirits, Coming out on Top (explicit)
Action Game - Hades
Western RPG - Fallout New Vegas
I meant more that the alternate timeline diverges significantly and while I liked it, I can understand that some people wouldn't like the depiction of racism/homophobia/sexism, and how those obstacles were overcome in the show.

Rock Hudson has a public relationship with a black man, a black woman gets an Oscar for best actress, etc. I like seeing how better worlds could be possible, but I understand that some people would see this as offensively oversimplified.
Literature: Ninefox Gambit and its sequels (The first book will be extremely confusing but you just have to wade through it)
Visual Novel: We Know the Devil
Manga: Teppu (although the queerness is not literally stated, it's super gay)
Anime: Yuri!!! on Ice
I highly recommend all of these. None of them are excessively long or annoying and all of them are gay as hell.
Left hand of darkness, the city in the middle of the night, the song of Achilles
The "Shades of Magic" series is one I that I really like.
