So many good songs and artists I had to let go because my vibe is ruined when I remember who the person is behind the music

Start listening to Reggae! Even if the tunes aren't your thing, the social commentary almost always lines up with Leftist ideals.

recently i discovered a song ive liked for years was actually a diss track about the show Whale Wars and a defence of the whaling industry. not quite the same caliber of thing but it really sours the music realising the message behind it is something so weird.

but as a neofolk fan, i’m very used to researching new artists that come across my radar to make sure they aren’t nazis

Neofolk is nice to listen to until you check out the album art and it's just a bunch of Nazis in weird capes.

I used to occasionally listen to black metal, so I am all too familiar with the struggle.

nope, its a branch of industrial music that incorporates medieval and contemporary folk music. it was a thing in the 90’s and doesn’t get much attention today. but it was full of nazis.

a great non-nazi example is the flagship band of the genre, Current 93

Furtwängler wasn't a Nazi but was still controversial.

Yeah, he was just a fucking coward though, and way less than some (Carl Orff comes to mind...).

Von Karajan joined the fucking Nazi Party while he was in independent Austria, and then joined it again in Germany just to make sure he was fully Nazi'd up!

(there's actually an anecdote I have from someone about Karajan being such a colossal dick Fischer-Dieskau and Wunderlich decided to play a prank on him, but it might doxx me to say it)

I don't understand in which way this is going. Is Rammstein libs/nazis or leftist to you because either of those feel wrong

I don't know much about their political views apart from the fact that they consider themselves east german.

Yeah I know (allthough I'd've gone with Mann gegen Mann) but they're like REALLY milquetoast about it. Not so much in the messages, allthough you sometimes get the feeling that they're more about the shock and seeing how reactionary germany is some leftist shit is sure to do this, everything to do with their pricing, merch - their business model if you will - is entirely fucking elitist nonsense and they're stuck far up their own ass.

Your favorite metal band probably has Nazi associations. I had to write off the whole genre it was too much work lol

Dang, I didn't know she was a landlord. Wikipedia doesn't say anything about that. On the other hand she isn't guilty of whatever her grandfather did, but that's actually kind of crazy still.

There are some artists I can still listen to and others I can't. No real logic to it and I would probably be better off dropping the shitty people

Out of curiosity, who? The closest I can think of is Sabaton cringeworthyly doing songs about Nazis, but they're pretty explicit that they're just making songs about war stuff in general (and have made some pretty great songs about the Red Army stomping Nazis). There's a few creeps here and there that got busted for CP and such, but otherwise the genre seems pretty squeaky clean.

"It was the drummers fault, also it was years ago and we don't want to say sorry for...reasons."

Almost everyone would forgive them if they just said they were young and a bit shit and did fucked up shit but they grew out of it. Big donation to anti racism org, story is over apart from the occasional twitter guy.

But nah, deflect and refuse to apologise. Every fucking time.

No the rule is that you just can't feel like you're accomplishing anything.

But, you can totally have preferences rooted in politics/ideology.

    I fix it for You:

Artist are just Vessels that the Muses use to Speak their Art through , And whenever they speak through it they burn their Vessel up a little ... Corrupt it , waste it ...

And After a while they get transformed to Ruins ,Demons that imaging themself to be the Muses , .. But the Art itself going through a pure and young Vessel , it will stay Pure and Untouched and can be enjoyed pure and Untouched ,

Dont associate with the Vessels , associate with the Muses , with the Art , the Vessels are made for Sacrifice...

    its okay

    its just Vessels

    :)

    exept Chris Brown..
