DSA IC has been pretty consistently based for a little while now haven’t they?
Yeah. They keep a closed membership and they ousted most of the third campists a few years ago. Unfortunately they're still limited in what they can actually do by the Secretariat and NPC, and they do have a bit of a fetish for pink tide governments that I don't think is super helpful, but all things considered they're good anti-imperialists.
we're actually the only national committee as far as I know that has open membership. over 600 members so far, its just we have an application process to see who actually joins, usually only rejecting people who are very obviously not anti-imperialists. that DSA delegation last year meeting with Maduro was an IC project, we only really are limited by like money cause we dont have much of a real budget for anything
people can check out a rundown of some things here and some of the poli ed events weve done here. also Cuba Solidarity work has been cool to see develop
The only hexbear meetup I would even consider going to
Edit: and to be clear, I'm dead serious about it. I will actually meet y'all in the DPRK
uncritical support for the DPRK in its heroic struggle to liberate occupied Korea from the genocidal American empire
Radicalization of the DSA is literally one of the best things that can happen for the US
OP is a member of the caucus which organized this. He said their main bottleneck is funding and they explicitly screen members for imperialist apologia
its kinda hard to explain all the internal workings of DSA haha, maybe i should do an AMA on here. the IC is a national committee under the National Political Committee (the highest elected leadership in DSA). we're basically in charge of handling the foreign policy arm of the org. you can see many of these stances taken up in the recently adopted official DSA political platform

An AMA would be awesome! I feel like people imagine DSA as more monolithic than it is
Normalized relations with dprk are literally never going to happen until the US balkanizes
It’s a publicity stunt, as it ought to be. The amount of politics which is just public relations is gigantic. The point is to change public opinion first and then drag your representatives along with you
I would love to visit the DPRK but I'm too broke and I think that would be a pretty hard sell to convince my girlfriend lol
Really excited for a quixotic spectacle of electoralism to become the Struggle Session of 2024.
The DSA is made up of many caucuses and many of the more principled caucuses lack central authority
