Latest episode is about the execution of the Romanovs, he goes all lib at the end and uses it to make a point about how “oooooh they killed the tsar for being a murderous tyrant but now they’re becoming the same themselves”. The next episode is about the red terror apparently.

The point about the leadership themselves feeling the need to cover up their involvement and the deaths of the family members is fair enough, but honestly who care about some dead royals

i mean he pointed out that even lenin saw it as something to hide given that he maintained that the children and servants were still alive. did the staff, the cook, maid really deserve to be killed? the children also didnt choose to be born romanovs. Duncan said he wasnt going to cry over the killing of a leader who terrorized countless people but it makes the case it wasnt necessary, or at the least the killing of the children amd remaining wait staff wasnt necessary

Honestly! In the beginning it seemed pretty reasonable but since the Bolsheviks have taken power and started doing their thing, it's gotten decidedly more focused on how bloodthirsty and ruthless the revolutionaries are. In a way, the exemplification of a left historian who hasn't quite made the jump yet

ehhh the dude couches his takes with historical facts and appropriate context. if you can point anything he's said that is factually incorrect i would be interested to hear it
