Some of the comments are :chefs-kiss:

Just to throw in 2 cents here. Me and my partner have owned a motel 3 for about three Years now. It’s been a fine car,a few bells and whistles worth celebrating, but absolutely do I blithe this article. First flag was when they charged us $300 for a universal garage door opener. Dick-ass move, but one that can be argued since most other car manufacturers up charge you for the same. But unlike those other manufacturers who physically install a whole ass-ass device, this was just a software switch of zero-to-one. At the same time, we didn’t pay for the super speed package, but did pay for the auto-pilot package. Both of which are perfectly capable by our physical car, just did/didn’t pay for (vs physical components) Which, under the guise of capitalism is fine. Asshole, but fine. But it was the most recent update that was FORCED to us that remade the controls in such away that TOOK AWAY vital daily use controls off the front screen/dash that that made me realize how much I hate this car. What was once a garage door button on the screen (that we paid extra for) is now three menus deep. What was once swapping driver profiles is now three menus deep, what was once being able to access Bluetooth phone options on screen is now three-four menus deep. Tesla ACTIVELY TOOK MENU ITEMS AWAY from all current users, and I’m ready to bet dollars to donuts that by the end of 2022 we could buy them all back. It’s fucking disgusting, and there’s nothing we can do but “not buy it” which… yeah, sure that works so well. Fuck Elon, fuck Tesla, god damn I regret buying this car.

Those are the best ones, “Elon my model x just spontaneously incinerated and now customer service won’t take my calls, I love you and I love Tesla Elon but this is no way to treat loyal customers!”

The writer of the article suggests that it might be a way of reducing seat motor stress. Apparently tesla is having frequent warranty claims for seat motors.

wtf why does it use motors? just have manual adjustment ffs

Most cars built in the past 10 years have removed manual seat adjustment. Same goes for windows and mirrors.

gotta keep making "improvements" to justify the cycle of consumption and make people feel inadequate for not having the latest "upgrade"

God it fucking sucks. My last car if I needed to move the seat all the way forward to fit something in the back it took one second, this one you have to stand there awkwardly bent over for like ten seconds holding the button down while the seat sloooooooooooowly moves. It's small but there's a dozen little things like that where technology was added where it wasn't needed that all make the car more annoying to use.

I agree, we can't expect Tesla to make quality electric motors for car seats, this just isn't part of their business. Their main business is FSD fraud and the company's stocks.

Awful production quality, random software disabled crap like this and artificial speed/acceleration limits (for upsales, not safety). Who in their right mind would buy a tesla?

The Twilight Zone reboot really blew it by not having a modern version of the It's a Good Life where a boy controls a town with his mind.

The updated episode could have clearly been about Elon (etc) and tech controlled by tech bros but the story was vague enough so that they couldn't get sued.

It stops people from sharing their car. Which means they have to buy a second one. More money for Tesla.
