David Leonhardt is ~15 years younger than Friedman and Brooks. They are dipshit generalists and he's just a dipshit covid specialist but I do believe he could come into his own in the very near future.

Leonhardt was born in Manhattan,[13] the son of Joan (née Alexander) and Robert Leonhardt.[14] His father was Jewish and his mother was Protestant.[15] His father was the head of the French-American School of New York.[14] Leonhardt graduated from Horace Mann School in Riverdale, New York, in 1990, and then continued his studies at Yale University, graduating in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science degree in applied mathematics.[16] At Yale, Leonhardt served as editor-in-chief of the Yale Daily News.[17

I did a quick scan of his Wikipedia page to see what I'd find after I started the thread. In fact - after reading that quoted stuff - I googled his dad but I got nowhere. I really wanted my hunch to be proven right that Leonhardt comes from serious old money. He has that stench about him.

You definitely don't become the headmaster of the French-American School of New York unless your grandfather owned the racism factory. That family is swimming in some kind of blood.
