I think my favorite thing about libs is this little thing about the Holocaust. Yes, Jews were the majority of those prosecuted by the Nazi party, but the Nazis killed approximately 12 million people within concentration camps with only 6 million of them being Jews, many of them being much smaller Slavic and Roma minorities that have never recovered from the population loss. The wiping out of the German Communist Party completely killed any sense of native communism within Eastern Germany, and made it seem like a foreign ideological imposition from Russia, even as they reaped the material benefits from it. Again, the Jews were an enormous part, but to focus on it at the expense of everything else the Nazis affected and did with the Holocaust is missing the big picture.
National Socialism is the German evolution of Fascist ideology, which is essentially primitive Third Positionism (the ideology which we see growing a lot today.) National Socialism was called what it was so they could pretend that there was some kind of anti establishment movement, when it essentially kept the vast majority of the establishment around and strengthened it.
Liberal consensus has dumbed Nazi atrocities down to just being about the Jews. Maybe it is just easier for liberals to understand a simpler story with fewer protagonists or maybe accepting the totality of Nazi crimes would disturb the liberal view of reactionaries as essentially good and normal people who just happens to hate a few well-defined and clearly demarcated minorities. Maybe accepting that reactionaries are rotten to the core doesn't go too well with their fetish for being civil and submissive to everyone to their right.
