"It's fine we'll have decentralized moderation too!"

Pedo white nationalists take over moderation

"Oh well, nevertheless the ideal and principles of the thing were good!"

As someone who’s accidentally made and pushed a git commit with my 2-decade-old personal email address to an explicitly communist project on an account where I may have called for armed insurrection in my home country:

        :yea:

It’s incredible how the pedos and nazis are dominated by people who have nothing better to do than to infiltrate the moderation of a niche social media alternative. “Attention democracy” at work, I guess

Usenet was the OG decentralized social media protocol and it was an unmitigated disaster of violent terroristic threats, child porn, and libertarian/Objectivist ideology.

But at least Usenet let ISPs stop sharing the child porn by banning the Newsgroup locally. With this new blockchain technology you can never take the child porn out, ever.

Learned a lot about this in Bring The War Home. Nazis were some of the first power users online.

I see the hands of AHS behind this. They're pretty good at coordinated campaigns of sabotage. They'll observe and figure out when the admins sleep, and then wallpaper the service with cheese pizza. Then they call the upstream provider and get the service terminated for TOS violation.
