It's just so ridiculous, like what the fuck. How can antimaskers rationalize this shit. The flu never killed 1 million people over 2 years, more like 70 000. This is enough people that everybody should at least know somebody who knows somebody who died of this disease in the US. I guess they can just say the stats are all made up, but you can't ignore this level of death in the community unless you live in some hermit commune with no one coming in or out.

It's so crazy-making, it's like people have gone through all this trauma and literally don't know how to process it or understand it and no one with any influence in the media is willing to explain this outside the political cultural game.

      antimaskers rationalize

It's gone way beyond them now. In c/covid I've recently posted a bunch of Leana Wen, M.D. (@DrLeanaWen) material. Some were her tweets some retweets. She's my go-to for current covid ghoul post material. She's a doctor, medical professional, medical talking head on CNN, and a super-ghoul on covid.

She gets ratioed but a lot of "reasonable" people share her opinions. It's becoming mainstream in many lib circles that for covid we live in a new normal that we must get used to. Here's an example in one of her recent tweets.

Yes, we must prioritize the immunocompromised. But it cannot be an option to harm the economy and close our schools for any longer. We need to aim to protect all, while also allowing those vaccinated/boosted and thus at low risk themselves to move on if they wish.

The "but" is classic ghoul-speak but she then goes 100% mask off with "it cannot be an option to harm the economy". For four years she was health commissioner for Baltimore. She was a fucking health commissioner so she should be saying "it cannot be an option to harm the vulnerable."

The population of Baltimore (~586,000) is smaller than the pile of covid corpses that used to be living Americans. All of this fills me with rage.

The funny thing is that I only started really paying attention to her ~5 days ago. And I didn't have to google and google to see how ghoulish she was. I knew it within two mintues simply by looking at the first page of her most recent tweets. I was aghast.
