Yes, up until the yanks come out the woodworks every time your troops are mentioned to inform me that it's ok for them to help/take part in the murder my people and destruction of my country if they're doing it for free college.

My first real experience with Asian people was with Islam, I've had several uncles and neighbors try proselytizing me as a kid but my mom raised me Christian, I consider myself an atheist. My second major experience with Asians was in an anime club in highschool, I did not like that side of the Asian community, it was totally different than the one I saw going to the mosque. Now I've experienced racism from non-whites before, Latinos and Hispanics probably the worst, but east asians, specifically the Japanese, Korean, Indian, and Chinese people who own the corner stores is the same kind of liberal smug racism I experience from whites. They may not have created white supremacy but they benefit from it you know, probably more than anyone else who isn't white. The amount of times I've even fetishized, accused of theft, called the fucking nword by east asians made me not like them in the same way I do whites. It was literally communism that made me more open to Asian people, and calling Asians a "people" is about as broad as calling white people a "people", idk, I'm just here for the communism.

Other than the event which we don't talk about and BadEmpanada posting, it's a lovely place.

apparently u/purr got banned a while back, she seemed cool, i have no idea what happened and despite my utter ignorance regarding that situation i disagree with the decision and have preemptively killed myself on this hill

      You're right, u/purr didn't deserve a ban.

Spoilering this because they were banned for an exceptionally stupid/undeserved reason

They were involved in a veganism-related struggle sesh 4 months ago. They brought up their discomfort seeing the language of sexual violence and slavery being applied to animals.

They were active in a thread where a vegan doubled down on using "slavery" as a means to describe animal husbandry. That racist comment is still up, but purr got banned for reacting negatively to it.

The ban reason was: "Constant disinformation, condescension, generally being an asshole"

A mod also removed a statement u/purr made about being a black person.

The same user who said 'slavery is slavery' when comparing animal husbandry to chattel slavery also had this to say

It’s left-larping idpol radlibs poisoning the leftist movement with cowardice.

jesus christ someone should be demodded over this

edit: obligatory, I am bringing up the situation in the mod chat, no need to make a rant post

edit: the offending moderator is probably no longer active/demodded for inactivity, as the current mods/admins didn't ban purr

In case anyone is to be curious of my whereabouts, I am retiring this account for two reasons. One is the normal spring cleaning that should be done. 2 years! Way too long. The other reason is because I brought up this issue with purr in the moderator chat, and was not satisfied by the admin response. I felt it reflected poorly on their priorities, as they refuse to revisit the possible unbanning of purr, even if only as a gesture of self-crit and goodwill. However, the issue probably deserves to be laid to rest. Hopefully this obscure comment in a dead thread will be a graceful enough "exit".

I will still be :amogus: but not as a mod or on this account. I need to come up with another nice username in the meantime.

Do your problems gain any traction here? Do you feel accepted? Are there any concerns?

Many of them do, but there are some that for some reason are just a big sore spot to a lot of users here, despite the evidence to the contrary.

Do your problems gain any traction here?

Sorta. People at least don't deny my problems

    Do you feel accepted?

    For the most part.

    Are there any concerns?

My biggest concern is that I often feel like people see things through a lens of "Internet outrage" rather than understanding that so much of the stuff we get mad about directly negatively impacts poor black people first ever time. I know the term "Terminally online" often gets thrown around a lot but I don't feel like people on the site are plugged in with other people in real life. I don't even mean in the poltical sense, I feel like many people are very isolated/alienated/alone in an unhealty way. Which isn't their fault of course but it's something I'm concerned about.

Any good things you have to say about hexbear when it concerns these issues?

Most people tend to be receptive one point out that not everyone on the site isn't a Twitter/Reddit type of person. Also no one on the site has said "Oh you're black? prove it!" or anything like that, which is nice.

Do you think people are allies here?

For the most part. At the very least I don't think anyone on the site is an enemy.
