How should America be broken up in your opinion?

Even one faction breaking off of the US would likely cause the rest to unravel, there’d probably be one government claiming to be the real successor to the US per county within a week

The only factions in America are different competing sectors of capital. The masses have next to no input into how power is wielded and more than half don't even give it any thought. The closest thing we've had to civilian led independence movements in the past 50 years have been extremely small hippy communes, racist terrorist groups, and weird cults. For perspective, Jonestown was one of the bigger ones.

In an instance where the state can no longer exert its legitimacy, the only organizations I could see declaring themselves a successor state would be the military or Mormons.

I'm honestly not too well aware of how much money they make or how integrated their money is with stock trading, banking, or real estate. I also think companies like Apple and Google rely upon the existence of American empire too much to want some kind of sovereign independence, unless they're somehow going to start financing their own military ventures into Africa or Central America.

Apple Soldiers arriving in Nigeria in iMac armor.

Also I'm just realizing some kind of independent tech country would have to subordinate themselves to China. So :sicko-blur:

oh i was thinking they'd basically devolve into subsistence-farming feudal states very quickly

with old burned out computers and phones in the McCastles instead of suits of armor.
