Anybody playing Sifu? It's fucking rad. Best I've done is get to the last level at age 45 but the boss is beating my fucking ass.

I don't know if it's because I'm old af now and I'll never be good at anything ever again, and the games aging mechanic really drives my mortality home while I'm getting the shit kicked out of me, or if the game is just that fucking hard. I've enjoyed spending the last few nights playing until I scream and/or cry though.

Seems cool, but I haven't had time to play games recently. Trying to get a load of shit done ahead of TW:WH3 and Elden Ring.

The sort of challenge seems right up my alley.

It's got a souls-like feel to it for sure. It's very technical. Might be the hardest game I've ever played, but the most rewarding. I can feel myself getting better at the game and clearing out an entire room out without taking a hit feels really good.

Looks cool, but I've gone this long without buying into Epic Games Exclusives, so I'll wait till it opens up to give it a try.

But I've enjoyed Sekiro more than any of the other souls-likes, and it looks like it doesn't have endless lootdrops to sort through, so it does seem like its worth keeping an eye on.

Picked it up two days ago after I saw Barb playing it on twitch. It’s really good, but I rage quit a second ago cause a mini boss in the club was handing me my ass repeatedly.

It took me a few tries to make it past the club. That level is there to teach you how to dodge high and low. I couldn't make it passed the boss until I learned it, but once I got it down it made things a lot better.

The music is really good too, but after you've heard it a few times I recommend putting on some Wu-tang or Gza's album Liquid Swords while beating ass.

Coming from playing SFIII: 3rd strike and being able to parry has made this game easy for me. Use weapsons when possible, in large groups divide and conquer, upgrade your stance bar and recovery health on takedowns. I always started the game over if I took one death until i could beat the level perfectly without taking a hit but i'm insane.

I can make it to the 3rd boss at 20. But her first phase just whips my ass and takes the years off of me. People really good at this game impress me.

Ohh i see. Don't go attacking her on the first phase. You have to wait for a specific string of hers where she is open for attack. You will see her glow red when she does. If you can parry its a plus but other wise dodge until she does the string and is left open for attack. If she doing the one where she chases you while spinning her weapon just run around.

It looks rad and the OST is great.

Although I was wondering about the plot. It happens in china but it's by french devs, and after watching someone play through the 4th level (I think) I was pretty suspicious of what weird and vague "message" they've got in there.

There's an article (I haven't read) about how they weren't particularly sensitive with the culture. But I haven't noticed anything overt. The story is pretty much a standard revenge story. I haven't beat it yet, but it's implied that maybe the gang killed your father for a good reason. And the usual "forgiveness will set you free" type stuff with a VERY obtuse way to spare the bosses the game doesn't even tell you about.

But I am not a smart man. There's every chance I'm not seeing something that is there. I'm just mainly getting my ass beat and sometimes I get a few good punches in along the way.
