I've read this comic, came out a few years ago and is called "Superman Smashes the Klan". It was great and I enthusiastically recommend.
It's based on that famous radio series in the 40s where he fought the KKK, so it's an old-timey Superman who can't even fly yet. He does the whole "leaps tall buildings in a single bound" thing (And also runs hella fast on telephone lines for some reason).
