I would think all that stuff is still on the table for the far right, at least. Elon sucks but he’s mainstream right.
Also it can mean anything to anyone. “We should have more kids” could be a dog whistle that some people would pick up on. I’m not sure.
No matter what these people think it’s gonna be harmful by virtue of them being morons. Malthusianism? Bad. Just ignoring the fact that we have stripped the natural world (and the bill is coming due) so you can keep pumping out kids who will have to live in the ruins? Also bad.
Whenever I hear people talk about the population declining and that we need to have more kids, I assume it’s a dog whistle for we need to have more white kids.
If they were concerned about labor shortages, they would support immigration and if they were concerned about people not wanting to raise families, they would prioritize material conditions and the environment.
I think they want artificial wombs now.
They want artifical everything because there really isn't a demographic that has been pandered to and fed carefully sterile, polished and tailored content and experiences as much as your average techbro. To be perfectly honest you could whack most of them in some sort of pod and feed them individually tailored experiences via some sorta dream stimulation and they'd much prefer it to experiencing the real world in all its complexity, dirt and imperfections.
Or not I dunno I took a codiene tablet to head off a migraine so I might be talking out my arse.
