A convo on the phone between an editor and the on-the-scene reporter.
Editor "You used the word 'Nazis'. Why?"
The reporter knows where this is going but she stands her ground anyway "They were carrying a Nazi flag. And yelling racist statements."
"Wel..." The editor needlessly adjusts his glasses to show moral superiority even though the reporter can't even see him "Did you hear them say 'We are Nazis.'?"
The reporter could 'hear' the glasses thing through the phone but she soldiers on anyway. "I did not but—"
"Then you can't call them 'Nazis'."
"What noun do I use?"
"Clearly 'a group of people'. And then use what you said - 'They were carrying a flag with a swastika. And shouting racial slurs.'"
Oh just some "people" carrying a swastika and shouting slurs
What a mysterious "group of people" whose affiliations shall remain unknown forever

Hitler gets into power and that editor is like "noted public speaker graciously accepts position as chancellor"
