Kinds weird this hasn't been made by someone else a lo g ways back. Also Nolan is like, really really really not the guy for this. I'm not sure who is pick but bad call there.

That being said I'd love to make it and here's how I'd sort of do it: starts in the style of like a typical space mission/that movie where they break the enigma code or whatever, scientists coming together, overcoming the obstacles in the way of discovery etc. Until the audience forgets it's about the atom bomb. Room full of scientists applaud at mission control as the mission succeeds, this is about 3/4 through. Then hard hard fucking cut to as much actual footage of the blast, the victims and the long term consequences in montage Adam Curtis style. Black screen, I am become quote, Hiroshima/Nagasaki memorial list on total silence. Credits.

Just. Imagine. The. BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM. During the actual bomb going off part.

Some will tremble with Pavlovian ecstacy and I'm already dreading having to hear about it.

I'm actually like, upset over how well I have this visualized now. Tom Hanks as Oppenheimer, total Speilbergian sentimentality the whole works then just HARD FUCKING CUT

I was halfway through responding and it was a good comment. Why delete?
