Keep in mind in the Donbas life has been like this for nearly a decade. Kiev was pretty gnarly in 2013-4 too

Not with fighter jers per se, but conflict and shelling

Donbas has been pretty peaceful especially in the large cities. Only the border areas that are largely empty off people nowadays would get sporatic gun fire exchange and a mortar

No.....are people truly believing that Donbas and Luhansk was under constant shelling since 2014. Lol I know Westerners haven't given a shit about those regions since 2014, but no, the conflict has been in a stale mate and nothing really happening for a good 6+ years now.

a really cursory google search on newslookup and i have reports of at least a handful of skirmishes/attacks, 50 or so+, per year as recently as 2018. I'm not expert on it at all but it doesn't seem like theyve just been chilling since 2014 either, unless its all propaganda which i'm not ruling out by any means, im at work and dont have time to go into it

Yeah that's true, same goes for all those places in the middle east like Aleppo or Kabul before their wars. Ukraine is just happening right now and is on my mind, made it more immediate to me. But yeah, there's no shortage of places in the world where there's ongoing conflict and war.
