Unfortunately I don’t think socialism will arise from this

There can be peace when Azov Battalion is wiped out to a man and not a moment sooner.

Government of Ukraine has consistently refused to do anything to reign in Azov and is in fact supporting it alongside Canada and other NATO countries.

If four men are sitting down to dinner with a Nazi, there are five Nazis at that table.

:stalin-stressed: taking the country employing nazi mercenaries at their word of being antifascist

Ukraine is neither ruled by Azov or has the ability to project that terror group beyond its borders

Even if Russia was every bit as Neo-Nazi as Azov, then the situation would not be any different than if Fascist Italy had turned on Nazi Germany.

                    Let them fight.

maybe but wiping them out to a man is an unreasonable objective as they can recuit. Just make their treatment as a criminal group a condition of the peace

I have no doubt that at least the leadership of Azov being extradited to face trial will be one of the peace terms. Terms that would not happen without force.

Stalin’s mistake was thinking the Germans would abide by it

This is what I meant. Making peace with Nazis and thinking that they'd somehow abide by it is folly.

no he didn't expect them to abide by it hence the intense soviet military buildup between then and when the Nazis attacked

Yeah, pity for all the non-Nazi Ukrainian workers that they had the misfortune of sharing their nation with a minority of ultranationalists, but obviously killing thousands of civilians to get a few hundred fascists is totally reasonable and not just bloodthirsty self-justification.

Wait, no, it's definitely just fucked up bloodthirsty self-justification.

You misinterpret my statement a bit. There can be no peace while Azovites exist because the Azovites will commit acts of violence and murder.

The only question is whether the violence of Azov is met with passivity or with force.

Yeah then let the ukrainian people hunt down Azov and not a foreign army who doesn't give a fuck what nazi or commie militia the guy they bomb belongs to, nah?

Big fucking assumption that the Ukrainians are even willing to do anything about Azov except give them support.

Are there examples of the people or government of Ukraine doing (I.e. not just talk) anything to stop Azov?

Big fucking assumption that the russian government gives a fuck about Azov (or nazis at all) and they don't just use it as justification to invade a la war on terror.

No mistakes, hope they will wipe them out but i'm sure they would be eager to wipe them out if they were a communist militia as well.

It doesn't matter to me who wipes out nazis as long as nazis get wiped out.

Even if the Russian military is just as fascist then fascists getting merked in fascist in-fighting is still funny as hell.

Look, hardheaded and clear-eyed materialist analysis says that if you can find 1000 fascists in any nation, then you can bomb civilians to your heart's content and Western leftists will cheer you on.

This is definitely normal and not at all a sign that Western leftists continue their long streak of having baby 🧠 regarding international politics.

Azov Battalion is current fighting insurgency-style, yeah? That could take a decade or more
