Girls getting questioned for their familiars like they are for wearing band merch. She just likes to be followed around by the fox she isn't into real summoning and cant summon any demi-eldritch horses.
Magic preferred by women getting disrespected in the general discourse. "Divination is lame, easy magic for noob witches. Real wizards do STEM (Summoning, Transmutation and Evocation Magic).
Nah, if we're talking D&D schools of magic, it's enchantment you have to worry about. That's where all the freaky mind control shit is.
My crowning moment in any D&D campaign is when I played a Naga sorcerer who joined a party of humans and elves looking to overthrow an avatar of the Snake God who was leading Nagas and Lizardmen in a war against the human/elf lands.
I played the righteous turncoat right up until the height of the final battle with the Snake God avatar itself. Then I mind controlled the human fighter to kill the elf wizard and then put him to sleep so only the thief was left to fight the Snake God's incarnate wrath.
All hail the Snake God. Hssssss.
Start using the word genre to describe everything. Goth isn't a clothes style it's a genre. No more food nationalities, they're just genres now. Thai is my favorite curry genre. What's your favorite plant genre? I'm into fruit trees now, but I used to be more of a vegetable guy myself.
I am so sick of the summoners telling me I’m doing cultural appropriation because I call upon the aid of ancient Mesopotamian spirits in battle. It’s consensual for all parties and it’s kinda weird you even care dude.
I can't be bigoted, I have several goblin servants and an earthen golem in my employ!
"What kind of magic do you like?"
Uhhh
puts away incredibly niche spell
I guess a bit of everything
Annoying subset of teens of who says that "all modern magic sucks" and only cast video game spells. Except that they never actually try to study actual grimoires and the vidya spells they cast are just facsimiles normal spells anyway.
Arguing over sub genres of magic that are minutely different
That band doesn’t count as melodeath bc they only use melodic lines every now and then except it’s about the shape of the stars or whatever in a spell
Illusionist fire fan :wojak-nooo:
Vs
Fire demon summon enjoyer :gigachad:
Imagine needing illusion magic when you could just enchant yourself to be so convincing that you convince everyone they saw the thing even though they didn't
Me overhearing you from my treehouse alchemical fungi garden :side-eye-1: :side-eye-2:
Cheeky reminder that medieval Europe had a clerical necromantic underground. No you can't use it for your band name, I've already called dibs.
what if some forms of magic existed and others didnt, like someone flying around on a broomstick going "pfffrt lol you believe in necromancy?! you know you can't just bring someone back from the dead! that's fairy tale stuff!" :data-laughing:
Learning abjuration so I can be the magical killjoy equivalent of a boat dad who steals kids' boomboxes
This would be accurate if white witches weren't ruining hoodoo and other forms of folk magick.
guillotines are a dad method of execution, kids these days conjure up walls and summon some familiars to be the firing squad :stalin-gun-1: :stalin-gun-1: :stalin-gun-1: :stalin-gun-1:
