I hope everybody's month is going great so far.

As usual, some discussion ideas:

  • Do you want to share something you've done in the previous week? Everything counts, nothing is too small.
  • What would you like to do next week?
  • Which aspect are you currently focused on improving?
  • Do you have any streaks? For example, "sober for one day." Feel free to post your streak every day in this thread.

    Fixed an injury through regular exercise and PT! Pretty stoked because it was lingering for over a year.

    My capacity to bash fash is 600% greater.

      stretching and practicing how to completely relax my shoulder/fore arm and arm has done wonders for my chronic shoulder pain.

    This week I tracked almost all of my meals in Cronometer. It's easy because you can make custom recipes and copy and paste entries or entire days. You can also see your weekly overview to check if your diet is missing some vitamins or minerals. It's great, I highly recommend it.

    I ate around 1800kcal on average this week and ate around 78g protein. I managed to lose some weight, I'm around 74.5kg right now. Gonna continue tracking but I want to eat at maintenance so that I have enough energy to start exercising consistently again as the weather starts to improve.

    Other than that, I practiced meditation on 5 days in a row and did yoga today.

    Next week I want to continue meditating, tracking food and making progress solidarity

    I've been trying to stick to the No Zero Days concept as though my life depends on it. Problem is, I seem to be put-together only when there are people around me that I can disappoint. When those people leave...whoosh, I'm back to day-long doomscrolling sessions on the couch.

      No Zero Days is an interesting concept but it doesn't account for the fact that everybody has a shit day (or more) sometimes. My approach is to try to make continuous progress, no matter how small. Some days will not be productive, but that's normal and expected. The important thing is that you're still on an upwards trajectory stonks-up

    Going through a really really hard time rn, but the habits I put in place re: sleep, meds, budgeting, planning my day are standing pretty firm. And because I have the habits, my emotions aren't as extreme as they would have been if I was going through a really really hard time a few weeks back.

    My goal this week is small and actionable. Study for my exam and get a B or higher on said exam. Going back to school is hard and it’s deflating to take a course a second time but I’m going to make it. The specter of communism will guide me through complexities of linear algebra

      Taking a course again should absolutely be a good thing, every field has a microcosm of depth and room to get better at.

      Only in the timeline of 'you better be good at this now bcos get to work bozo' is taking a class again bad.

      Try to reframe it in a world that makes sense not idiot world. Not to say ignore the obvious bad stuff but why let that rule your life? it doesnt help you

    I'm coding up a site, and learning about implementing AI stuff in actually-useful non-dystopian contexts.

    I've noticed through my life that I spend one out of every 2-10 weeks feeling depressive, but also the occasional week of mania. Like a mild bipolar or something. This week has been a weird week of mild mania and I've loved it, it's been some months since my last bout. Makes me feel so productive and hopeful.

    Anyway the point is, learning stuff is cool. I encourage everyone to just learn stuff, practical or not.

    On the advice of my therapist I’m timing myself doing various household tasks to help out with ADHD time blindness. Hopefully if I have a library of average time it takes to do dishes, laundry, make dinner, take a crap (need to distinguish between with and without Hexbear open) I will have an easier time managing to get these things done.

    Arm technique: [v] Quadruple Stroke. 90-95BPM. Drop arm get four strokes grouped as sixteenth notes and sextuplets. 10 mins. Almost done here.

    Buzz Roll Technique [v] Four Full Strokes and then one buzzed stroke. Keep hand shape and tension from the full strokes and then let it bounce as much as possiblem 60-65BPM 10 mins.

    Foot technique: [v] Heel Down 70-80 pedal stays with foot 15 beater digs in [v] Full leg 130-145 230 min each [v] Ankle 165-150 down 230 each

    Groove Studies: [v] Jazz ride with bass drum beat 4 permutations [v] Rhythm Scale Benny greb app 15 mins. [v] Quarter note trips 10 mins. 60bpm [v] Quarter notes 10 mins. 60bpm.

    Was out of town last weekend so didn't meal prep. Exercised every sat-monday but didn't get back til late Monday night so it threw off the lifting routine.

    Have two days done though, and will finish it tomorrow and sat. Could be worse!
