This strikes me as mean spirited and targeted at the wrong people. Like, Zelensky, Putin, than Azov battalion are fair to joke about, but this feels like crossing a line.

      targeted at the wrong people

spec ops idiots thinking this was going to be like that one time they blew up a wedding in Afghanistan

Edit: also all the fascist Redditors hoping to help out their Azov heroes. The only ones in the bunch worth feeling bad for even a bit are the handful of idiots taken for a ride by the propaganda storm, and even then, they signed up for war.

Exactly. I'm not going to mourn anyone so consumed by propaganda that they use their imperial core golden passport to go play "school shooter simulator" against a bunch of heavily armed Russians.

Reminder that if it's true that these folks are "veteran spec ops", then it's 99% surety that they are war criminals who did some absolutely heinous CW-worthy deeds in Iraq and Afghanistan.

There's some :chefs-kiss: reddit posts in those threads from these clowns crying about not being on the side with air superiority, technical advantage, a full modern military, etc. and expecting that they were gonna go to Ukraine basically as advisers, patrolmen, run recon missions, etc, not be missile fodder. Like they thought it was gonna be like an American in Afghanistan!

They probably can't even speak Russian or Ukrainian and can't read Cyrillic, how are they going to advise the Ukrainian military lmao

First order of business is to teach local troops how to speak a proper language, English. Plus, the dumb Russians won't be able to understand transmissions in English and it's easier to distinguish the enemy.

like literally one of the guy on twitter said he enrolled because of a strike of a russian plane on a building, i'm pretty sure that dumbass saw the video that was actually a ukrainian plane accidentally discharging his weapon, it's just wild

Funny you should say that. A couple of the posters in the r/fleshTargetsForUkraine sub also spent a lot of time commenting about Rhodesia in history subs...

Exactly. If these LARPers survived long enough they would just wind up becoming even more radicalized nazis with combat experience.

the dudes with actual military experience who volunteered are probably unironic war criminals and the other guys are unironic fascists and people who are so brainwashed they are eventually going to be a danger to people around them

It's a bunch of wealthy fucks spending money they shouldn't have to go to a country they don't belong in to murder people and commit war crimes. Fuck them.

I get what you're saying and also if you check out the r/volunteersForUkraine sub and do a little digging, you're going to find a whole lot of fashies making plans.

Nah these guys are blood-thirsty scumbags. Probably posted "Time to kill some [slurs for russians]!" somewhere in their reddit post history.

I mean yeah, some of these people are going to be idealistic dupes who got swept up in war fervor.

On the other hand, it's not like they ended up there by accident or didn't have time to do some research between buying an international plane ticket and traveling through multiple countries.

They fucked around, and yesterday they found out.

Do you know what the Freikorps were?

Because that's these guys were before they got hit by 13 missiles. The legacy of the Nazi freikorps is exactly what the Ukrainian nazis had in mind when they pushed for this shit to happen.

Al Jazeera interviewed a small Ukrainian group that was literally called Freikorps lmao. They don't even hide behind or take advantage of more local nationalist, reactionary symbolism. They straight up want to appear as menacing as possible to the evil Russian hordes so they embrace a Nazi aesthetic without a hint of irony or remorse.

If they're heroes and Russia is the demon they say, then them taking that hit meant one less missile to shoot at a kindergarten. They wanted to give their own lives to save innocents, and that's exactly what happened.

If they were there to forge a new Reich on a foundation of a million slavic skulls, getting off of war crimes like so many Rhodesian adventurers, then the world is better for their idiotic deaths (and it's still 1 less missile to possibly hit a kindergarten).

No, it's totally the right people. They literally left a totally different country to enter this specific war zone and choose this specific side. Propaganda is a thing but how far gone do you need to be before it's fine? If it were 1945 I'd prefer the news of Hitler dying but I'll dunk on lower volunteering for the axis getting exploded
