So first off: this is for a young kid, like under 10...and no I promise you my son is not Dexter Morgan. He's honestly a very sweet and extremely well mannered kid...who for whatever reason is just super duper obsessed with the macabre and always has been.

I'm gonna have to draw the line on dancing naked in the pale moonlight and anything involving animal slaughter....buuuuuuuuuuut if kiddo wants us all to dress up in black robes and have a pentagram cake with dark twisted decorations for the party....welp...its his day!

Aside from the above any of you got wild suggestions that aren't too extreme? Plan on doing this in my backyard deck for obvious reasons.

Hahaha, we'll do pig latin! I love it! Dog costume is a great idea...I have a big Carolina dog I bet I could get some horns for.

I think it would be funnier if the dog was in the same kind of cultist robe that the rest of you were

He really is. He once saw a car drifting and loudly proclaimed "They're moonwalking that car!" and I immediately realized just how much more infinitely cool my kid is then me. 😆

Playing gregorian chants backwards is easy to do and sounds spooky as all hell

Red Velvet Chocolate Fountain crowned with an effigy of Pazuzu.

    Edit: Had some more thoughts

Cake in the shape of the Lament Configuration

Buncha pictures of goats and goat plushies EVERYWHERE.

Sit all the kids around a table and show them how to draw their own sigils and share their intent with the others.

Witches' Brew Workshop (just have a bunch of different flavors of Tang in jars and mix them in a cauldron).

Sing "Happy Birthday" but style it as a Dark Initiation complete with robes and (LED) candles.

Would renting a fog machine be feasible? Also might be fun to have spooky colored LEDs or candles

Less for the party but The Satanic Temple (the parody one not the LaVey one) sells really cool membership cards. It was like $25 I think (a donation). I recall seeing they sold out but are back in stock recently.

They have cool satanic images and then the tenants (usually) on the back -- your kid might love it. I used to love shit with my name on it when I was little

I've heard tell that they're pretty reactionary/potential grifters/fash at worst in the higher levels, but I'm not plugged in enough to know much more beyond that.

I've worked with one of the founders. They're likely not Marxist Leninists, are a bit on a power trip, and could very well still hold some reactionary opinions outside of religion (don't we all?)

But I think they're genuine and certainly do not get fash vibes. Not sure where that is coming from

Right on! Like I said, I don't pay attention - admittedly all the negativity I've heard does come from posts I've seen shared from....uh, Jex Black-something? The person who got kicked out in that documentary, and I'm certain my brain added in the 'potentially fash' part. Thanks for shedding some light on it.

Embrace the concept Moral Orel style: lots of junk food and laying around in food comas.

Dunno where you live, but are you close to any of these locations? If so, take your kid. My youngest son and I have gone every year for the last 3 (skipping the year it was corona'd)
