This drives me up the fucking wall.
Removed by modIf you don’t judge us based off the worst of Twitter anarchists, we won’t judge you off the worst of Twitter MLs. Like… I don’t know any anarchists who are anti-library. Library socialism is a whole thing
I've considered discussing with the mods the idea we should start removing dunks on "twitter anarchists". Yeah yeah we all agree they're bad takes but at some point it doesn't feel very comradely.
The real anarchists aren’t on twitter :think-about-it:
Nah but there is an unfortunate situation here semantically. Like the majority of the people on twitter/Reddit calling themselves anarchists are mostly liberals who are flirting with the aesthetic, maybe tangentially the idea of anticapitalism as a signifier without doing any sort of serious thinking or reconciling a life of brainworm propaganda with it. I don’t think they really constitute “anarchist” in the same way that those that hang out here or I’ve met irl do, tho this does feel a bit gatekeep-y I think it’s something quantifiable
we’ve had these types stumble their way here before and I’ve seen anarchist comrades here be like “youre not an anarchist you’re a liberal”
I also think a lot of these people are pretty young, college age and younger so still trying to figure shit out, so that’s another element.
Idk I don’t think there’s a simple answer bc it’s kind of tangled bc of the co-opting of anarchist label and aesthetics but also clearly a lot of anarchists here don’t love it when we dunk on them using the word even with modifiers like twitter-anarchist. I’m in favor of what makes people feel comfortable generally,
Just so we're all clear, this is a 2-day old account posting "le Twitter anarchists" stuff and commenting "but muh Hungary wasn't in the USSR's borders" in another thread to piss off the MLs.
Libraries are so cool! 📚
Community ownership is the way to be!
Fuck stores. Library everything. Kayak rentals? No, comrade. Kayak library. Grocery store? No, comrade. Skwisgarr was right. It’s a food library.
I heard that it's more efficient is you do a little enclosure.
Putting a fence around the library and peeling all the stickers off the books
I have never quite understood the appeal of owning first prints of works. The first print versus the 100th print are still the same book right? The point is to learn theory and apply it, not to just have on your bookshelf.
To a lot of people books are more like icons than sources of information.
If only someone could create some kind of idea or concept to explain how and why the use value of an item is detached from its market value
Funny. This post claims to dunk on an “anarchist” yet the quoted one is clearly just a fool
The Library is more interested in you returning the books once you're done with them than the people handing out free condoms
These guys are nihilists who called themselves Anarchists. They got no ideology, they just hate the current world and want to watch it burn.
Funnily enough they're basically the kind of anarchists that media always portrays them as.

:xi-joker: when
Stealing from the commons for private gain is literally capitalist shit, wack.
Considering that most of US universities are private and their libraries only provide books to the "paying customers" isn't what the frog guy is advocating basically shoplifting?
even a lot of private university libraries are open to the public
