Hey let's not erase the efforts of everyone else -Anchor Steam is union because Anchor Steam workers wanted it, not because of Brace Belden.

The wikipedia page for Brace (because he has one) implies that he didn't even go to college, but it also says that one of his nicknames was "President Chaos" so it may not be all that trustworthy.

My favorite part is that his family is a telecom products dynasty. At least 50% of the job sites I've been on, the telecom/security systems/AV guys are using Belden bulk cable to run their infrastructure. I thought it was a coincidence, but nah his family actually owns that shit. It's funny, I noticed this when I was doing HVAC, and we used to use West Penn wire for our control systems. I googled them and they're owned by Belden Group lol.

              wait WHAT

That's Brace's family?? I have Belden cables coming out of my PC as I type this response. Shit. This is like that time I learned the Reznor air conditioners family is the same one as the Nine Inch Nails Reznor

Lol I have a Belden crimper I used to use for RJ12 ends to plug into thermostats. I honestly didn't know about the Reznor thing, Ive installed many of those in warehouse docks and always thought about NIN when I did it.

I'm not saying his dad owns Belden Group, just that he is a part of a wealthy industrialist family. He might be the 3rd cousin twice removed for all I know.

Correction, his dad was a journalist for local TV in SanFran. So yeah he's probably related but not really in the money.

Trent Reznor is related to the Reznor HVAC dynasty FYI, if you ever go in a warehouse store like Home Depot, look at the heaters they have by the doors, they all say Reznor.

Idk their family tree but I think their name holds just enough clout that both of them could pursue volatile careers without fearing that they would ever be poor. For instance if my great grandfather's brother's son started a major conglomerate, I'd probably do whatever I wanted and then if it falls through, I'd just leverage my name and get a decent job paying decent money.

If you look at my recent comment history, you'll see that I've actually installed a lot of Reznor warehouse heaters lol.

I mean Brace was at the very least poor when he was a runaway from that horrifying "delinquent" camp he was sent to and abused at. Or when he burned through his money on heroin. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say your assumed social clout of his extended family is not as beneficial or secure as you think given how fucked his life has been. He seems to have not leveraged for a decent job, but rather unionized a brewery. Though his dad has his own clout, being present for the first on air blowjob in at least California radio history.

edit: his dad also sorta got iirc the DA to run off with a young mistress he had introduced him to innocuously, said guy was replaced with the fucker who prevented justice for Harvey Milk. Crazy family web, but not one I would exactly make claims about privilege or whatever about. The expectation of being poor and not having any relatives with social cache is weird in the first place. Fidel would've been dead for sure had he not been the son of a rich landowner. That stuff is all tangential

I think he's on good terms with his parents now, but I think he ran away from home at a young age since they were kind of abusive (well sent him off to an abusive troubled teen camp). It becomes a bit more difficult to leverage your family name if you're the dope addicted runaway. But under most circumstances it definitely leads to some sweet do nothing jobs.

I have a Warkrime album on vinyl and it's clearly Brace singing, it's really weird. He also did this cover for another punk band called Migraine

Wikipedia actually cracked down on his nicknames. There were like 30 before, and all of them had citations to a trueanon episode, lmao.

Wikipedia used to list "The Transylvania Cocksucker" as one of his nicknames but that got taken down.

Isn't it interesting how they go all on about "thank a vet for their service" but they still see soldiers as just mere tools to fetch them their treats?

As with all things Lib it's all about aesthetics which ultimately reinforce capital. Creating vacuous social prestige which doesn't mean anything material serves them very well. There's no interest in making things not shit for the treat fetchers.

Imagine if a bunch of American lefties went to Syria and then ran back the first time they were attacked by ISIS.

I mean I'm sure plenty did. War is hell, and lots of people run away from it. Being a coward is a lot saner than being a fighter most of the time. And, From what I remember the Kurds were telling people not to come at one point because they were about to get massacred by the Turks and they didn't want foreign volunteers coming in just to die for nothing to a Turkish air strike.

That's a good point. Even if you go way off road on your way to Ukraine you're still a white person and English is widely spoken throughout Europe. I'm not sure if you'd have as much luck trying to get around in some random part of Kurdistan.
