      Okay but how did nobody on set think that through? Someone made a conscious decision not to cover that up with some magical runes or whatever.

          it reminds me of when people are like "tolkein's orcs aren't racist!" when in his private letters he literally describes them as "resembling the least lovely mongol types"

                yeah antisemitism is generally something that is super subtly reinforced comparative to, say, transphobia, so yeah it is 100% not a tiny detail for me the fact that one of the largest book franchises has that blatant a connection to antisemitic stereotypes and the fact that the movies chose to reinforce it with those tiny details.

          I'm not all that invested in this so I probably won't Google it, but the size isn't really the point. I'm not saying that Rowling personally placed a Star of David in the background just to make sure nobody missed her antisemitism, but I also find it hard to believe that nobody suggested that it might not be such a good idea to film a scene about a sub-human race of Goblin bankers while using a Jewish bank as your backdrop.
