    there is 100% a recession coming in the next year or two. consumer spending has been gutted, inflation through the roof, supply chains still fucked, people have even LESS savings than the pennies they had before in savings, and even MORE consumer debt. in 2020 and 2021 governments turned on the money pipe, as was genuinely needed, but now you get all the 'small government' fuckos saying we need to cut back, or even worse blaming the money pipe for the inflation

      I mean that they might be expecting it real soon. Like by the end of Spring. Otherwise they're going to have people that have been working there for 10+ years quit their jobs when they realize that they could make more money with actual paid time off at a customer support call center.

      But hey, maybe they're only expecting a recession eventually. It wouldn't be the first time a giant corporation has prioritized short term labor savings over longevity. When will someone think of the shareholders??? :thonk-cri:
