All cats born after 2012 do not hunt. All they do is lay on kitchen floor, tip over meow mix bag, play in litter box, charge at cat toy, and hairball.
I receive: unlimited food, shelter, medical care, and love
You receive: a pile of cold puke in the hallway once per week and scratched up hardwood floors
Mine has become an ambush predator. She's like a little crocodile. She sets up kill zones and waits. It's pretty neat to watch.
That's how my dad's old cat was, she was an outdoor kitty and she'd kill everything. Real annoying when she'd bring it back to the house and leave if at the front door.
This one just is engaged against a protracted kitty's war against various toys. Had one way back that was a total snuggly chunko with people and didn't seem to have any grace at all but she could hunt like...a good...hunter. Me and my folks went on a trip and left her with .t grandparents at their cottage (unfinished sorta house in the woods) and she would bring back squirrels and rabbits every morning. She was a fatto catto and always seemed like a clumsy dork around the house but she could easily wipe out all life on earth if left outside long enough.
