Yes, this is a bit. Ketchup literally has added sugar.
As an aside, that's a good reason to toss out the ketchup in your fridge. I still have some but that's purely for other people. I learned the hard way not to be the dick who likes to entertain but doesn't have common condiments in his fridge.
Black pepper can at least be described as spicy in flavour. Ketchup is like sugary tomatoes, wtf.
I agree that black pepper could be described as spicy, but like, mildly? Clearly a very mild spiciness right?
EDIT: Like she's acting like putting black pepper in something is similar to putting a ghost pepper or something into it.
Yeah, for sure. I mean it's the thing that complements table salt, it's meant to be a minimal addition to a meal. Or in my case, popcorn.
If you do a lot of black pepper like in cacio e pepe it has a very nice mild heat to it, but I would never describe it as a spicy food lmao
if you use a lot of black pepper I'd call that spicy, but it definitely is a weak spicy and doesn't stick on the tongue like real spice does.
Yeah just baseline "heat"
I think we just have different culinary nomenclature at this point and there isn't really an argument to be had for either side.
Yeah I don't disagree with you at all
