Nuclear families are not natural. Humans are a communal species by nature. The saying is "It takes a village" for a reason.

We’re adaptable to almost anything, and tried all types of grouping.
Nuclear Family can be much more diverse than what we see currently. For example Communal, and Nuclear can freely switch between each other.
