Nuclear families are not natural. Humans are a communal species by nature. The saying is "It takes a village" for a reason.

I agree with you, but I don’t believe humans have any “Natural” way to organize family groups.

We’re adaptable to almost anything, and tried all types of grouping.

Doesn’t that make nuclear families just as valid as any family structure?

Nuclear Family can be much more diverse than what we see currently. For example Communal, and Nuclear can freely switch between each other.

They usually do. I can’t think anyone I know that has a literal nuclear family.

Even the name nuclear family is manufactured. People don’t actually fit in neat boxes like that.

No, but getting rid of straight families would probably end the species since there is no longer any inherent incentive to reproduce.

No one is saying to get rid of straight families? That's not what we mean when we criticize the nuclear family, or did someone saying "it takes a village" upthread not make that clear?

And many gay people have and want children too. It's real funny the way that you think we have to have this specific family structure, and only this structure, or people won't have any "inherent incentive to reproduce", as if humanity would have even lasted this long if that was true. The nuclear family is a really recent thing

I’ve been quite civil. You just keep getting your panties twisted because someone sees the world differently.

That’s fine if you don’t want a nuclear family. But it’s rude to criticize people who might.

Just like it would be rude of me to criticize a homosexual family structure.

The point of the title is that sexuality has always been forced on children, but because heterosexuality is the default in American culture it's been heterosexuality forced on children. Now the chuds are all up in arms because of pro-LGBT teachers, acting like kids are being forced to be gay, when kids have always been forced into heterosexuality.

How about an example of gay people criticizing straight people for choosing their family structure? Oh wait that’s this thread.

I get that it was in response to a hateful person. But acting like a hateful person is the exact opposite way to say their behavior is wrong.

Being critical of ideas isn’t hateful. Unless those ideas are tied to orientation.

For example, the idea that LGBT people are groomers isn’t being critical. It is hateful.

This is a fair argument but I think the line between criticizing behavior only one orientation partakes in and bigotry is incredibly fine and also leads to abuse.

I’m not mad. I’m just pointing out the above fact. I’m only continuing to comment because my inbox exploded with aggression.

Straight people have never lost jobs, been attack or killed, or otherwise ostracized by the whole of spciety and told their lifestyle is wrong. There is no possible way to make your claim on this make sense in the real world it is completely delusional

The only thing you can do is hold up a straight person getting some shit for being a bigoted asshole as “oppression” which it isn’t
