    Interesting. Reminds me of some book I read that was an alt history where it was middle eastern countries that were the dominant world powers who did industrialization and colonialism. Don't remember anything else but the premise at all. Probably a good thing because there's a pretty good chance of the book having some shit take about refugees or 9/11 or whatever was in the public discourse when it was written.

      Years of Rice and Salt by socialist sci/fi writer Kim Stanley Robinson, who did the Mars trilogy and ministry of the future. been a while since i've read it but it was pretty lacking fucked up takes.

    Is this an alternate history where Africa colonized Europe instead of the other way around, or a speculative future?

    If the former, then it should be noted that the names of many of the African countries you mentioned are the product of colonialism. Might be better to use the names of indigenous cultures.
