    as dumb as it sounds, it might literally be the rock scene. it sums up the absurdity and heart of the movie and i was laughing and crying all at the same time.

    I've been in a slump recently, and while I don't really agree with parts of the "nothing matters" angle of the film, sometimes it helps to readjust perspectives of the world, and what matters is the relationships you have with those around you.

      the nothing matters message is my favorite part. The daughter saw everything and became pure nihilism. Nothing matters so I can do whatever I want. She tries to get her mother to see that and almost succeeds until she hears the husband explain that his optimism is not him being a buffoon or naive and he understand nothing matters but that his way of fighting against that negative nihilism was to take the philosophy of if nothing matters than why not be kind. Honestly one of my favorite messages ive ever got from a movie.
