I just got out of Morbius for the fourth time in 3 days. I feel different. The sunlight hurts my skin. I find black mist gathers around my feet as I glide across the terrain. I feel an insatiable thirst for baked beans.

We need to have an Adam-Curtisian discussion about why multiverse shit is a pop-culture touchstone in this particular moment. Is it that capitalism has ran out of worlds to conquer and can only dream of more? Is it people just wanting to see how things turned out differently after a different set of choices? Is it predictive programming for the metaverse?
Okay, but I promise it's good! Way better than no way home this film actually has heart. In terms of blockbusters it has alot more in common with peak 80s speilberg than the marvel capeshit now. S
It's a really weird (in a good way) and bonkers. I think the movie has a wonderful core message and some very interesting visuals. Great performances all-around. It's plainly just a good-ass movie. It feels original and fresh.
I liked when Evelyn (I think that was the protagonist's name) seeing some of her "better" parallel lives. I like when movies show that most people understand their plight in life, but there was something about Evelyn understand their life could have been different was very well done and melancholy. The film did a good job lingering on her alternative selves.
Michelle Yeoh is possessed by every version of her in every parallel reality and does superhero stuff, except it's an original film starring Michelle Yeoh so the action looks like it'll be pretty good, and it has more stakes than a marvel movie because it probably won't have a sequel.
People can say what they want about ST:Discovery, but Michelle Yeoh being a total badass is a lot of fun to watch.
I saw an early release screening and it's easily the best movie of the year so far hands down.

as dumb as it sounds, it might literally be the rock scene. it sums up the absurdity and heart of the movie and i was laughing and crying all at the same time.
I've been in a slump recently, and while I don't really agree with parts of the "nothing matters" angle of the film, sometimes it helps to readjust perspectives of the world, and what matters is the relationships you have with those around you.
the nothing matters message is my favorite part. The daughter saw everything and became pure nihilism. Nothing matters so I can do whatever I want. She tries to get her mother to see that and almost succeeds until she hears the husband explain that his optimism is not him being a buffoon or naive and he understand nothing matters but that his way of fighting against that negative nihilism was to take the philosophy of if nothing matters than why not be kind. Honestly one of my favorite messages ive ever got from a movie.
What do you know, A24 and Neon are like two American distributors that didn't leave Russian market, so I just might end up seeing it in the theater. Also the worst person in the world while It's still out there.
