:squidward-chill: me not being able to afford a ticket anywhere rn
I still have trouble believing how expendable people find service workers.
Daily reminder that living-with-Covid doesn’t mean no lockdowns; it just means individualised lockdowns of 5-7 days every time you get sick (or become a close contact anywhere except the UK).
Wait, there aren’t mandatory quarantines for those with covid in the USA either?
Hell no. At this point I don’t think you even have a way of knowing if you have COVID. Are free lab tests even a thing anymore?
They still have free drive up testing in my town, but last time I was there I was the only one being tested. That will probably be closed just in time for the next wave.
Bold of you to assume the ultimate capitalist hellscape would go that far for it's workers. I work a white collar job and we got rid of our COVID policy last year that had permitted quarantine for 2 weeks after testing positive
Now it's just 'work remote' or 'burn personal sick days and then get excused leave (which you will not be paid for)'
Retail where I am never had anything even that good,; iirc, for them it was "stay home and lose 2 weeks' income" or "work through it." For someone going paycheck to paycheck...
Noooope. CDC doesn't even recommend that anymore. Because apparently killing people and having to shut down anyway is somehow better for the economy, which is apparently part of the CDCs mission for some reason.
I take it back, the inflation is not transitory because capitalist nations will never learn their lesson that workers are what keep the economy running
Doesn't this virus know that Biden is the most progressive president ever :hillary-disgust:
COVID is over and Ukraine is winning and Zelensky is Jewish
should've added "Zelensky is Jewish so Ukraine has no Neo-Nazi problem"
Also China is lying about their number and their economy will implode any moment now.
the BA.2 wave in England is worse than the first omicron wave which was only a couple months ago, almost everyone has covid antibodies or has been vaccinated and boosted. It's definatly going to rampage through the states.
:farnsworth: I've launched the plague tube to fifteen-hundred feet, for Science!
I've heard that planes are actually good for not catching covid because they are constantly getting fresh sources of air but maybe that's bullshit idk. Of course they also can transport people who were already sick before getting on the plane to other places anyway.
Absolute bullshit. Getting sick on a plane has been a trope for decades.
I don't actually know. I assume it's all the same air, since it's a pressurized cabin?
When an old man behind me on a flight shit his pants I smelled it the remainder of the flight. Covid is better at remaining airborne than shit so I would have to assume that’s BS
They probably already have HEPA filters, but you are provided with an air nozzle that blows your(and everyone else's) germs around.
Before you're in the air there is effectively no ventilation. I've seen people post photos of CO2 levels of over 4000ppm. Once you're flying it's fine I guess but it probably only takes one boarding period to get an infectious dose.
If there's a bustle in your Heathrow, oh baby don't go
It's only spring clean for the may queen
