oat milk is good, and both oat and soy are pretty much equivalently good environment-wise too, better than almond (and waaaaaaaay better than cow in a whole host of ways)

im more team :soy-chill: but thats more a taste preference plus a bit more protein

oatly have these shitty ad campaigns diluting veganism for the sake of sales, and making it out as just some diet that you can do part-time, so id be inclined to buy pretty much any other oat milk instead if you can

Taste-wise, yes. I tried all the plant milks when I switched and boy did I dislike oat milk. It made my mouth feel like it was coated in sawdust. I prefer soy, almond, or cashew milk.

What's the problem with seed oils? Where are y'all gonna get oil if not from seeds?

I can only assume this was made by an Italian.

Some of them have way too much trans and saturated fats. Makes them pretty unhealthy if you eat plenty of fired food.

It's why frying in actual butter, animal fat or Olive oil is considered much healthier.

But I can only afford seed oils and margarine so I'm getting cancer by 50 I guess / ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I just checked the margarine in my fridge and it still listed trans fat in the ingredients, even though only as trace amounts. 35% saturated fats though, which is similar to animal fats. As for the canola oil, no trans fats but 7% saturated fat. So the healthiest option that I have right now I guess.

Obviously it's not as dangerous as cigarettes, that's Paleo and keto fad diet nonsense.

With zero knowledge I would risk canola oil could easily be worse than sunflower cuz canola oil originally wasn't used for human consumption cuz a lot of bad things in it. Industrialization and breeding made it edible.

There are tons of plants we have made more suitable through selective breeding, though. Canola also has the lowest omega-6 to omega-3 ratio, aside from flax (linseed) oil but that has a super low smoke point so you can't really cook with it.

Yes, tho I'm still suspicious about canola cuz the breeding of an edible variety was too quick. Still, I'm mostly joking

Yeah well the key there is "frying".

what's the deal with eating bugs? I think I ate some crickets once and it was like ok. Very bland, needed some spices I guess
