In a way that you can say that a majority of people on this planet or in your sphere have not experienced this or are affected by this to the degree that you have. Literally anything is valid, no matter how mainstream, all that matters is that you feel you have a unique experience with it to the point where you can discuss it with others on a more personal level. This can range from intrinsic parts of your being to niche interests.
Use this thread to talk about either things you don't feel are talked about enough here or to bond over interests you otherwise wouldn't have the opportunity to share :shrug-outta-hecks:
I strongly recommend that you do not doxx yourself through specificity any degree further than already dropped info within the bounds of your current handle about the topic, unless you are sure that it cannot connect you to your real name when connected with all other info dropped. Otherwise: Keep it vague, keep it simple. Feel free to just straight-up lie.
For me:
- Judaism (reform)
- transness
- ADHD (especially the struggle against procrastination)
- my experiences at a yearly overnight camp
- going to an intrinsically unhinged suburban high school specifically designed around "college prep" (to the point where my college stress level is pitiful comparatively)
- composing music (on a self-taught level)
- specific works, some which I've shared here include:
- CrossCode
- OMORI
- Disco Elysium
- Xenoblade
- JoJo
- a couple of past interests that I have fallen out of but still remember my experiences within them vividly:
- Overwatch esports (it's a fucking trip whenever I see xQc in my feed when I remember I watched the Arc 6 rant live)
- Geometry Dash (I can discuss this. I refuse to discuss it under most circumstances, but I can)
- and some very niche things that I'm not super invested in but the fact that I've experienced them and vaguely remember them is enough to count here imo:
- a couple niche/spinoff wii games such as Help Wanted, Mario Sports Mix, and Spectrobes Origins. Also a Ben 10 game that I, for the life of me, cannot remember the name of.
- two absolute bangers I played on my dad's (now non-functioning) PS2: Ape Escape 2/3
just wanted to post this since i'm doing a lot of introspection on personal experience and what defines me as me and not just someone, and I kinda feel like it's a good line of thought to facilitate people's personal expressions. individualistic, of course, but it's a harmless individualism in the end.
that's really it. please don't share info that has a clear path to your irl identity. I vetted each item here to make sure they were all either things I shared previously and things, when put together, could not collectively link back to my identity.
Also I played geometry dash in highschool in between classes, I started playing it again like over 8 years later now, my only question is how the fuck does anyone do anything harder than the base levels that come with the game? My reaction times are ok I guess, but the rhythm and flashing colours and everything on screen fucks me up. It's like overstimulation and everything.
Also I'm still no where near as good as highschool me at the game lol. Though my skills in other video games have improved massively.
:yea: you get used to it, just like all other rhythm games
gd is worse about it due to the custom fx but
honestly i never was a big custom demon completer. i wasn't even good at the game. my fondest memories were community-based, a la creating a semi-fake collab level which allowed me to scam my way into the admin position in the semi-official forum at age 10 for two straight days with unchecked power and then running two seperate account boosting grifts over the course of two years. good times
Lmaoooo for that last paragraph.
not even embellishing there, very true events that i vividly remember happening. i have no idea how the fuck i pulled those schemes off. my best explanation so far is "preteens be doin shit". maybe the fact that i was literally processing the sequence of each event one step at a time helped the authenticity of it :shrug-outta-hecks:
This reminds me of clash of clans back in the day, how every clan was run by a 10 year old lol
holy shit i facetimed a stranger because of clash of clans and i remember that they were like a year younger than me and also i could hear spanish in the background. i forgot about that :what-the-hell: preteens really just be doing shit wtf
I used to have a Playstation network account in my moms name in like the late 2000s, because I was a kid and my boomer-x parents set everything up. So some creep fought I was a girl and messaged me after a Call of Duty MW2 game, back when the game was brand new. (Also, I wasn't allowed to play this game because I was under the age restriction back then, so I sneaked a copy from a friend and their older brother lol). Said creep immediately ghosted after finding out I was a boy lol.
Kids really be doing stuff :wut:
I'm the kind of sicko that cranks up particle effects and screenshake whenever I'm allowed to, so IDK I can't help you lol
I played geometry dash for a very long time and could never reliably do even 'easy' user created demon levels (I think I have about 75 demons total, which while a lot I think compared to everyone was definitely lower than other people 'surrounding me' on the leaderboards). I check about once a month to see if 2.2 is out which I guess will never happen.
