It's cute that you think the rich only torture the poor when it is profitable for them. My brother in Allah, our suffering is the point - they enjoy it, it is their entertainment, it adds meaning to their empty lives. They would torture us even if it cost them money, and they often do...
I didn't say the cruelty set them back at all. Some are indifferent to it. Some get off to it. But either way, they want their sliver of additional lucre.
