They made the Punisher a divorce guy and it's honestly simultaneously the funniest and worst thing they've ever done with the character

And that's including the times when they made him an angel and a Frankenstein

I forget off the top of my head, but it's the latest before this current run

They basically did it because they think the Punisher IP is toxic, which is why they just put a new guy in the role

He still kills criminals, just with lasers instead of bullets so it's more better for that reason

Not sure "He can't kill criminals because they killed his family, but he can kill criminals because his wife divorced him" is going to make that IP any less toxic, no matter how much of a fan I am

            It's even worse than that

So, Frank ends up becoming an avatar for The Hand (evil ninjas), he stops using guns for a minute and switches to ninja magic and swords

Then they use their evil ninja ways to bring his wife back to life so he can make a clean break from his past and embrace being an unstoppable killing machine or something

He can't kill his wife, so he turns on The Hand

Then his wife calls him a monster, takes all the money he made being a vigilante (somehow) and leaves him

Frank has his big "What have I done?" moment and ends up leaving for another dimension where he still kills people, it's just different for some reason

Then some other white guy who's a Rogue SHIELD agent takes up being The Punisher because he hates crime too

It solves none of the actual issues around the character and instead just makes him a fuckin' cop who does the job with lasers

It's asinine, but then again, most comics are

Yeah, it's very telling how they ignore the best way to deal with chuds being associated with the character is via legal action against them using the Skull

And hell, if they want to make it a story thing, literally have the Punisher go after chuds, he's done it before

Just do a big storyline where he's hunting down a bunch of them who have taken up using his name and symbols to hurt innocent people

I'm not even a professional writer and I could do this shit fifty times better than they are

It's 3AM. Batman is sitting at the computer in his underwear surrounded by beer cans. He's trying to send an email to his kids explaining that he can't pay child support this month because he has to invent a new kind of motorcycle tank. If anyone tries to destroy Gotham, they'll thank him. It's not like last Christmas when he didn't send them a gift because he had to invent a flight suit that lets him see electricity.

It's 3AM again. Batman is sitting at the computer in his underwear surrounded by twice as many beer cans. He's staring at his inbox and wondering where the reply from his kids is. Maybe it's in the spam box. Maybe he should call them.

i always thought a youtube cooking show done by a recently divorced guy that gradually becomes more and more unhinged would be a pretty funny bit

I swear something like that exists, I remember watching a few episodes. The host is shown ignoring his family to do his cross country cooking show, leading to divorce and a gradual mental breakdown and maybe murders.

Can't find the damn thing though, search results are clogged with garbage.

I'm pretty sure that's the plot of You Suck at Photoshop. I don't think it will have aged well

Not exactly what you described but this guy along with his "recipe" gives off major divorced vibes. Someone give this man a hug asap

Dad-films are about men who prove themselves by suffering through a violent ordeal (reluctantly of course ;) ) to protect society. Society is symbolically femine of course. If the wife is dead its a redemption story. On the other hand if the wife is just fine on her own, it sort of undermines the raison d'être of the hero. Like, be normal, your stoic suffering isn't a positive attribute. Society will still be standing if you lighten up.

The protagonist of Sacred Games is middle aged and divorced and he is characterised really well. In the book though, not the TV show. The TV show is trash.

There's a comic called "Galaktikon" about a space super hero getting divorced, I don't know if I should suggest it but it's there
