They encouraged them as food like other cereals cause they felt it would stop maturation.

The enema thing is different, but Graham himself died during an opium enema

I mean, there's quite a bit of that if you know where to look in her novels, but most of the real horniness was during The Season in London since it's hard to have an affair when everyone knows you personally from birth. Jane doesnt really do London.

What pisses me off about her novels is that there's a fucking war on in most of them.

Like how come guys get Master and Commander and Sharpe and I don't get a sexy, ruthless Jacobin spy seducing the British Nobility?

Over the Hills and Far Away, but the lyrics are about all the actually interesting events going on offscreen while you're stuck watching the maids flirt for 400 pages instead.

There's 40 dances on the card
all drunk, or cads, or smell of lard,
while I forbear and wish to stray
o'er the hills and far away

O'er the hills and o'er the main
where dances call that aren't so plain
yet duty binds and so I stay
O'er the hills and far away.

I fucking hate Madame Bovary for this same reason, or maybe I love it? I can't decide. Everyone in the book is horrible or an idiot. It's either amazing satire of boring middle class Victorian goofballs or a kind of mournful tribute to them.

there is that zombie P&P novel that at least has them fighting hordes as they go between their fortified houses and learning martial arts in their downtime
