When economists said that economies of scale made things more efficient, they never considered that efficiency might suck ass

One time a classmate told me Texas is just better because only Texas gets the special edition of like Ford and Toyota trucks. I had to gently tell him every state gets a special edition and it's the same vehicle but with different emblems. Like my dad had a Louisiana edition F150.

Classmate got kinda sad hearing that

Texas has revolutionized the industry by combining gas stations with Walmart and a consumer cult around a beaver.

The funny thing about Chicago deep dish is that mostly only tourists eat it. Locals are in love with what they call "tavern style" which is essentially tomato sauce and cheese on a saltine cracker. It's horrible.

I hear people boast about the music scene more than popcorn tbh, but those are definitely the three big ones.

I think it's fair to say a city usually has a better music scene than middle of nowhere, and the bigger the city the better the music scene. But yeah Chicago doesn't have a particularly good music scene to my knowledge outside of just having more people making music

just having more people making music

Totally agree, I don't think we have a particularly strong scene of any genre these days, but there's certainly a shit load of musicians around.

Chicago has much cheaper housing than New York and California, so that's pretty cool.

Californian's think whatever side of the state they're on is far superior to the other. But if we're being real SoCal is a neoliberal hellscape of perpetual traffic jams.

everyone in every city around the world does this, pretty much. except the English outside of London. they think every city in England is shit, including their own and London. and every foreign city is shit, because it's foreign. except for Sydney, which is a nice place to go on holiday.

God, the English are so fuckin weird

I think it might have to do with the fact that unlike most countries rural living in the UK is insanely expensive. A lot of the ideas pushed of the stereotypical quintessential English life is like cottages and small village life etc. This is impossible to achieve for the majority as like 99% of UK land is privately owned and very expensive so instead we all just live in cities and are mad about it.

She could be describing CVS. The only thing that makes bodegas "unique" is some of them do hoagies.

Museums, Broadway theaters, movie houses, Lincoln center, jazz clubs, A-Z restaurants, great universities, great libraries, like the NYPL, Art Galleries, etc. All within one subway ride away. Nothing can compare with the Big Apple!

jesus christ. does anything exist outside of new york or is it just grey houses and wheat fields?

People who live outside of new york: where do you go to see roads and cars

People who live outside of Pennsylvania and don’t have WaWa: where do you go to buy motor oil, a Turkey sandwich, fried dill pickle chips, and two tall boys of Modelo since I’m here, why not?

Bodega is "store" so I assume that's part of it. So one may serve a different context.

    The grocery store.

No epic breakfast sandwich insta shit though. Which I'll happily take over thinking flyovers have no stores.
