I hate the Melvins. Buzz is fucking annoying as a person, and as a songwriter, every album they've ever put out is composed of 1, maybe 2 good songs and the rest filler. Their newer stuff is just butt rock.

not to sound like a fucking ~ ughh i was born in the wrong generation ~ kid or whatever, but i miss grunge. i fucking love the vibe and the vocals and i get the feeling that that was a good time for music generally

I love all of grunge fashion, tbh. particularly since it, at its core, is a fundamental rejection of fashion. it's like "normcore", but better and more original and less conformist.
if you wear flannel as a "uniform", you're doing grunge wrong.
My dad was part of the grunge scene; he said it was amazing, but obviously with the hubris and ignorance of youth, they didn’t realize what they had until it was gone. To my surprise he, along with presumably many others of his generation, never really made the connection and somewhat evolution of noisy 80s punk rock to the grunge sound/aesthetic(i.e Wipers influence on Kurt Cobain’s lyricism and style). I think that’s a relatively new retrospective insight for a lot of Gen X unless they were really into the scene
