At some point during my PhD, my partner and I discovered that some doctoral graduates (read Finnish) get a sword when they graduate. Apparently this is a fact my partner held on to and he decided to honor me with my very own Doctor's Sword now that I’m done.
telling anyone to calm down is the worst thing you can say.
there is no circumstance where telling someone to calm down won't make them angrier
I always find that debating my wife with facts and logic helps her calm down when she's mad at me....
