I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that basing your YouTube video on a more popular one is a way that people game the algorithm and boost their own popularity on the platform. So I’d guess a lot of this is just shitty YouTube channels trying to gain more followers.

Watched a few minutes of his new video, thought it was pretty solid overall. I could quibble over minor details but the video is explicitly for beginners so. I still can’t understand how people even sit through these videos though, even good ones. Political streams on twitch just go on for hours and hours. I can only listen to podcasts while I’m doing something else. When you read Marxists you can absorb so much more information so much more quickly. Kids these days I guess.
Every time I look up any controversial topic there's always a secondary search that's just "____ debunked." It's just the way of the webs.
It doesn't help that YouTube doesn't let you block channels. Sure, I can get them off recs(some of the time) but I dont even want that trash popping up when I'm searching as well.
Yeah I blocked Game Theory (because Matt's a social fascist) and I still see his videos whenever they go viral. It's so irritating.
The only reason the outright Nazis don't show up any more is because the algorithm has deemed them advertiser unfriendly, not because I told them not to show me their shit.
Why would a vaushite channel "debunk" a ST video? ST videos are usually pretty solid and AFAIK they don't really focus into details that tankies/vaushites/MLs/anarchists would really disagree hard on. From what I've seen you'd have to be a neoliberal or other right winger to really have a standing to debunk, otherwise the only complaints I could image from the left would be the absence of blatant open Stalin or Kropotkin endorsing.
