Lmao, look at how much they prep in response to :maybe-later-kiddo:s marching with strongly worded signs that will do nothing except get them laughed at on Twitter, but practically invited the Jan 6 people right inside and then them do fuck all until they got bored and left.

According to the US government, they are more afraid of :maybe-later-kiddo:, then they are of :frothingfash:. If I was the latter, I'd be embarassed that a brunch lib is scarier than a locked and loaded macho man.

Galaxy brain idea: protesters should come and make thick cement walls all around it. They want a wall? Give them a wall they'll not forget

When you’re erecting non-scalable fencing for the second time in two years around a major government building things are definitely going well

This fence looks fucking awful. Take a pair of hydraulic bolt cutters you can get for cheap.

There are literally two cuts you need to make in this fence to make it completely and totally useless. You can eliminate the existence of a fence in 30 seconds.

Literally every other riot fence I have ever seen is more effective than this thing. This is just inviting someone to get past it.

Presumably there are heavily armed goons slightly out of frame who would stop someone who is doing that. My guess is that they won't set up a more permanent fence because the lanyards would feel uncomfortable.

Won't be able to stop it during a large protest crowd so they're essentially irrelevant.

If they shoot at a pro-abortion crowd of protesters the US changes instantly, not just domestically but internationally as well.

No it doesn't. People here would just lie down and accept it, like they do every single time the government figures out a new way to fuck us over

This is not how it played out in BLM where police violence consistently escalated things and more police violence only created even more electricity in the left. A combination of Biden winning, Floyd judgements occurring and finally covid caused the electricity to fizzle out.

Liberals turned the George Floyd "riots" into parades in a matter of days. They fizzled out well before Biden won or the judgements came down, and COVID wasn't a factor because they started after COVID had already hit. They never posed a threat to the status quo.

No they didn't. We watched things play out for months here, protests on hundreds of nights in places all over america were all Coolzone™. Cops were quitting en masse because they were tired, miserably, unhappy and getting their shit pushed in. Yes some early shit was coopted and made garbage but the cooption largely failed early on.

It never posed a threat to the status quo, that's absolutely true, because it never had a coherent set of political demands other than outrage at the treatment of black people. It was electricity without organisation, a goal or clear political direction. A much more radical and larger version of the same failures Occupy had.

Is there any noise about actually doing anything to stop this? Lots of people are complaining but, like... I haven't seen much more than complaining.

Everyone is so fucking defeatist about this. We've got them outnumbered 170 million to five. We literally just need to find out where they're hiding so we can have a polite, reasonable discussion.

What could be done, other than breaking through the barricades and executing every justice, then going over to congress and doing all 500 some of them in, and then on to the white house and finally rolling through the national archive and burning the stupid constitution to ashes, all while pacifying the most powerful army and police state in the world? Is brunch Karen going to drive her Tesla through those barricades? Does she even know how to chamber a round in a semiautomatic rifle? Nothing can be done to stop this short of burning this whole rotten ass nation to the ground. They don't care if people protest. Aside from optics, they really don't care if people riot. Until we're organized and armed and ready to die to overthrow the government it's all an exercise in futility.

This place is like a shitty job I keep thinking it’s time to leave and then maybe it will get better so I stay way longer than I should have

This morning I woke up and thought to myself we are NEVER getting universal healthcare. Like the absolute most succdem of liberal reforms, just a pipe dream. Completely impossible.

They’re outlawing abortion and we can’t even go to the fucking doctor. Like we aren’t stagnant we are sprinting in reverse.

Looks to be about 10 feet tall, maybe 12.

On an unrelated note, the Home Depot near Springfield Town Center, a mere 25 minute drive from the Supreme Court, sells a wide variety of ladders for all your climbing needs.

Those bolt cutters are going to be quieter, too. The angle grinder is just my go to because they're so versatile. Flap wheel beats the hell out of a file most of the time for general purpose stuff.

My assumption is that loudness won't matter much as there will be a police line directly behind the fence. But the sparks would get a big cop reaction much quicker than the cutters. You'll need to be in black bloc and there will need to be a large crowd directly at the fence in order for it to work out.

Two simple cuts should turn one of those gates into a free swinging door by the looks of it. This would still be defensible but you'd have plenty of opportunity to cut another hole or two while things escalate.

no doubt, i just think the angle grinder is the kind of tool most diy people would either already have or could make use of whereas a bolt cutter is basically just single purpose

also whether they see the sparks or not, other than gas/mist they're not going to be able to do anything about it from the other side of the barriers - beanbag rounds are useless and tazers aren't going through that mesh

Yes it's the most useless riot fence ever constructed. It does provide a few options though:

                1. Pepper spray. Bring a gas mask and sealed eye wear.
                2. Pepper shot balls, wear a canvas layer or just something thick as well as having the above.
                3. Water guns.

                If you're prepped for 1 and 2 you're fine.

The 4th option is the directional heat gun, I haven't got a counter to that thing yet but deploying it safely isn't exactly easy for them either.
