I think the US military is increasingly a paper tiger. It's full of extremely expensive weapon systems that don't work very well. It's really good at sending small groups of guys to assassinate people, and it's really good at dropping missiles on people who can't defend itself, but it kind of sucks at everything else. I'm pretty sure an invasion of Iran would break the back of the US military. The biggest thing is that our industrial capacity is so gutted that we would struggle to replace war-time losses against a reasonably well equipped and highly motivated enemy.

Nah, like half the country works for the arms industry. Are there even any jobs that aren't marketing, service, or arms dealer?

            It's just so funny.

            • China isn't leftist.
            • We have to take over the Democrats.
            • I work in the arms industry.

            :agony-4horsemen: Western left bingo!

Military wise the US can not be beat. Occupation and military strength is not the same as winning a war, they are related and can help, but you can still lose after your military has been wiped away. Economics are part of that too. The British held India with it's ability to occupy and it's military. But both require a stewing economy to back it up. That's how Ghandi ended up winning.
