Goddamn libs aren't willing to watch Lucas's Vietnam films or his "This is what happens to neoliberalism" films

tbh the weirdest thing about the sequel trilogy is the lack of any sort of focus on the 'wars' aspect of it. i think it's an interesting reflection cause like, episode 7 is made between 2012 and 2015, it's premise is that the war from the original trilogy basically never ended, i think that's a pretty decent but also kinda horrifying reflection of how we see wars considering we've been fucking with the middle east since the first trilogy. episode 8 is made between 2014 and 2017, trump's presidential run and win is in the background during development but probably not during the writing stage, and while i don't think there's any direct link there you could maybe say the way in which no one really comprehended that shit happening is reflected by how sloppy the movie gets with theming at times. and then episode 9, the only one almost fully produced after trump wins, is just the biggest fucking mess, reflecting how liberal's brains were just broken and anyone who was a liberal in 2016 and still is has either done no reflection on it or actively chooses to live in denial.
